The king of cocktail-dom, the dry martini is the perfect classic drink with a cheerful dose of boozy. So how does one make the ‘perfect martini’? Stick with tradition – never use vodka and serve it stirred, not shaken.
50 ml of conker gin
15 ml of dry vermouth
2 dashes of orange bitters
Combine the gin, vermouth, and orange bitters into a mixing glass filled with ice.
Stir well for about 20 seconds, then strain into a chilled coupette glass.
Garnish with lemon twist.
Spritzing the lemon peel over the glass releases the essential oils of the lemon and give the drink extra flavour and aroma.
