Here at GrowEatGather we love a good food store, especially a community owned food store which offers good, fresh, real food from sustainable sources at an honest price.

The Better Food Company in Bristol believes in good honest products and strive to make local, organic, ethical and fair trade goods more available to all. Originating as a home delivery service in 1984, it has grown to encompass a box scheme, two organic shops and cafe, and a wholesale vegetable operation and a growing operation, based on a 24 acre site in Chew Magna, North Somerset.

The Better Food Company owns a large shop and café in St Werburghs and a food hall and deli in Clifton. Both shops are about 90% organic, and specialise in selling locally produced goods. It has also been at the heart of launching a Community Supported Agriculture venture in the nearby Chew Valley – The Community Farm, whose produce is sold in the shops.

Their well-stocked shelves have a wide-range of everyday essential staples, fresh organic fruit and vegetables, organic meat, drinks, health and beauty products, gifts and household goods. The store also hosts a café serving delicious goodies throughout the day, where you can sit with friends or grab a lunch on the go
